Props list

Chair (X2): We will put a sheet over a dining room chair to fit more into the scene. As a normal dining room chair is not very threatening and doesn’t fit with the scene. We need one for each of the characters in the dark room, Leighton’s character who will be bound by duct tape, and Connor's mysterious character, who will be crouching on the chair.

Duct tape: We need the duct tape to tie Leighton up in our task. We chose duct tape because it looks more intimidating than string or rope, and it was cheaper and more rugged than handcuffs.

Glasses: We need these because one of our characters wears glasses. Also it presents and idea of innocence. This prop is key in the plotline as one of the characters uses it to discover that another character is missing. This making it the most important prop in our task.
Small metal bar:  We used this as it was just the right size and it fits in with our scene and looks more intimidating than a rolling pin would. Also, we wanted to use a blunt weapon as we thought it would look more intimidating and it would be safer for us to film. This also suggest that the criminal doesn’t want to kill the victim but just capture him.

Mask: We decided to use a mask for Connor’s character in the room scenes as we felt that the mise-en-scene of a mask made the audience more uneasy as they cannot see who it is, which sparks fear of the unknown. It also gives off a more gothic theme, which appeals to more audience members. Also it would appeal more to the age range of our film.

Phone:  The mobile phone is essential to the plot, as one of the characters uses it to ask members of the public about the other character's location. It will just be a regular iPhone, as we don't need to get a prop that adds to the psychological thriller. This will be quite a minor prop and will only be used in one scene.
