Update #5

We are getting very close to the point we we are about to film. We have got a storyboard full and know exactly what our opening sequence will be like. We also know what props we will need as well as what roles we are preforming in the opening sequence. We also know how much dialogue are characters have. We also know all the different types of shots we are going to do.

Main task Update#4

In the lesson we have just discussed what we are going to do storyboard. We are discussing what we are going to do for are main task. We know that is has to be physiological thriller so we need to discuss things like the 180 degree rule because if we have dialogue especially in the form of a conversation we will need this. We will also need to have a large range of shots such as mid shot; master shot; close up; medium close up; two shot; long shot; wide shot; pov shot; and  over the should shot. We will also need to make sure it doesn't turn into a trailer, because its meant to be a an opening sequence rather than a trailer, so we got to make sure it feels like a opening sequence.

Framing rule of thirds and focus pull

For our opening sequence we will use framing rule of thirds and focus pull. We must take into account all these techniques.

Framing is when place objects in the shot which keeps interest in the shot. In our main task we are going to include a lot of objects in the background that the audience can gaze at instead of looking at the characters in our task.

Rule of thirds: Is where you use lines across the screen this forms to create 9 equal sized boxes along the screen. These lines are used to show where the eyes of the character should be on the top vertical line. It also allows you to position characters so they have space in front of them.  For our main task we are going to  have shots that have eyes in them so we will need to follow this rule to make are task look more professional.

Focus pull: This is where the camera changes focus from one object to another. We will use this in our main task to show two characters walking and then switch via focus pull to the character stalking behind.

Updates for main task

Planning

Ideas: Me and my group was discussing are main task. We came up with lots of different ideas that we decided not to do. The first idea was a woman and her friends going into a nightclub however one of them gets drugged and then she is kidnapped. She then gets taken to a dark room by a dark figure who then binds her up an tells her she can not escape her friends ask the staff for help as she is missing. But the staff don't believe them because they are drunk also the police don't believe them but after a while searching and they find the woman and save the woman. We didn't use this because we could not find ideal location and we need a lot of extras,

Are next idea was to have and island wear we have a few characters be washed up on this island. One of these included a military veteran but they start getting killed by a dark figure. This figure is called the grim reaper and kills the characters of one by one. Also their would be a fight between the protagonist and they antagonist. In the end the antagonist is sent to jail the protagonist is awarded. with a medal. The problem with this one is that we would need and island also we we need a large amount of people because lots of people enter the island.

The third idea was a life guard on a beach just doing his job when he notices something strange he can see lots of coral around the place also all the animals around the area is acting strange. The life guard reports the issue but they dismiss him thinking hes silly. Then the find out that tsunami is actually coming he try to save as many people as he can he takes them to his dads plane which is large and can fit many people they take off and escape from the tsunami and come back after its done.

Are idea that we have chosen is two people who are friends are walking down the street when one of them has to quickly go do something. Next a man steals the one that didn't go and takes him away. This will happen in some sort of flashback and it will end with the creepy man talking and then he knocks the character out.

Update#3

We have viewed our Prelim task and it is good apart from we did not include and establishing shot so we added to shots in of the interrogator (Connor) Walking into the building and opening the door. We also borrowed some police tape to make the scene more realistic.

Update#2

Today we began editing are trailer we have deleted the bloopers from our prelim. We have now started to add sound effects to make some of our scenes sound a little better.  We had listened to lots of sounds to which is the best one as well as we added filter to make it lighter as it was hard to see.

Update#1

Today in our group of me (Jack) Connor Leighton we started to record.

We went to the lecture theater this allows us to control the lighting to make it look very dark and sinister. This is also had tables and chair which we used for the interrogation. In our prelim task We also had to borrow a teddy bear because are Prelim required a teddy bear for a few scenes. So far we have filmed about 1 minute. Now we will begin to edit.
